Graduates earn 1,177 degrees, certificates from Lake Superior College


About 50.8 percent of the 1,177 degrees and certificates handed out by the Lake Superior College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Duluth conferred 389 certificates and 209 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide. Data shows the school gave out 310 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide, followed by 257 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies and 113 associate's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.

The college enrolled 4,793 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
