About 12.7 percent of the 13,472 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Minneapolis conferred 805 doctor's degrees and 529 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Data shows the school gave out 479 master's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General, followed by 465 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General and 333 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General.

The university enrolled 51,579 students for 2016-17, including 34,870 in undergraduate programs and 16,709 in graduate programs.
