Graduates earn 9,595 degrees, certificates from Capella University


About 31.1 percent of the 9,595 degrees and certificates handed out by Capella University in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Minneapolis conferred 1482 master's degrees and 1135 bachelor's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 970 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 474 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management and 418 master's degrees in mental health counseling/counselor.

The university enrolled 36,284 students for 2017-18, including 9,210 in undergraduate programs and 27,074 in graduate programs.
